Alternatives
Looking at SportsEngine alternatives?
Here is the honest field, including the platforms that will suit your organization better than we will. We would rather you picked the right one than picked us and regretted it in March.
Why so many boards are looking right now.
SportsEngine has had three owners in under a decade — NBC Sports Group, then Versant when it was spun out in January 2026, then PlayMetrics, which completed its acquisition in May 2026 and had itself merged with Stack Sports the year before. That is why boards are looking, and it is the whole of what we will claim about it.
Who each one actually suits.
Prices read from each vendor's own pricing page on September 20, 2026 — not from a comparison blog, because when we checked those against the vendors, every one was out of date.
Jersey Watch
Publishes: $348/year, plus 3.5% + $1.00 per transaction.
Small rec leagues that want the cheapest published price in the category and a simple site. On a $75 registration their per-transaction fee is lower than ours; if your season is mostly small sign-ups and you want a plain website, they are a straight answer.
TeamLinkt
Publishes: a free core platform, with $425/year add-ons.
Organizations that will not carry a subscription line at all. If the board has no budget and the treasurer needs the number to be zero, start here.
TeamSnap
Club pricing is not published — you get a conversation.
Clubs whose families already live in the TeamSnap app. Brand familiarity with parents is a real advantage and it is theirs.
LeagueApps
Not published. A quote, plus a one-time setup fee.
Larger, higher-volume league operations with staff to run an implementation, rather than a board doing it at 9pm.
PlayMetrics
No pricing page. Now owns SportsEngine and Sports Connect.
Organizations whose governing body has standardised on it. Little League International and several state associations have; if yours is one, the decision may not be yours to make.
Do not pick us if
Three reasons we are the wrong answer.
You want live scorekeeping, stats and game video. We do not do it and have no plans to — that is what GameChanger and the scoring apps are for, and they are good at it.
You need tryout evaluation or tournament brackets this season. Roster offers are live today; the evaluation and tournament modules are not built, and we will not sell you a date.
Your registrations are mostly small and everyone pays by card. Our flat fee per transaction is higher than some of the field, and it lands hardest there. Ask us to do the arithmetic on your real numbers before you move.
Where we are worth the call.
Associations and clubs run by a volunteer board, where moving platforms is the thing standing between you and a decision. Moving the site is work we do, not a tool we hand you — and we have done it end to end on a real association's site.
31336
pages in their old site became pages worth keeping on the rehearsal port. What moving actually involves.
We will tell you if you should stay.
Bring your real numbers — players, fees, how families pay — and we will do the arithmetic with you, including the cases where moving is not worth it.
