The bill arrives in pieces, and the roster cannot move.
Tryouts happen in the spring for a year that runs through football season and into competition season. Choreography is built on the athletes you have, so a roster that changes in October is expensive in a way it is not in other sports — and the program usually runs tumbling classes and open gyms all year alongside the competitive teams.
Three things that bite in cheerleading.
- It is never one fee. Uniform, camp, choreography, competition, travel.
- Sell the extras as add-ons on the registration form rather than chasing them separately, and put the whole thing on a payment plan with a deposit and automatic installments. Promo codes and adjustments cover the board-approved cases.
- The roster has to be settled before choreography starts.
- Roster offers with a deadline that expires on its own, so a spot does not sit unclaimed while the routine waits on it. The family accepts and pays online.
- Tumbling and open gym run all year and are not a season registration.
- Punch passes that count themselves down at the door, and drop-ins taken properly — a printed QR on the table, families checking themselves in on their own phones.
