A Sports Connect alternative — for the baseball Sports Connect doesn't mandate
Which is better for a youth sports association, InSeasonHQ or Sports Connect?
If you are an independent, travel or multi-sport association that chooses its own platform, InSeasonHQ is the better fit: a published $750 a year, a bank rate of 1.8% + $2.49 that families see in dollars before they pay, and roster offers and Volunteering with buyouts built in. If you are a chartered Little League program, Sports Connect is required for your player registration (per Little League's own technology provisions, checked Oct 2026), and it is the better fit there. The full comparison is below.
Let's start with the honest part, because it's the first thing your board should hear: if you are a chartered Little League program, your player registration is required to run through Sports Connect. Since 2025, all US Little League programs must use Sports Connect for player registration (per Little League's own technology provisions, checked Oct 2026)*. We are not going to pitch you out of a mandate.
But a large share of youth baseball and softball isn't chartered Little League: independent community associations, travel organizations, town leagues and multi-sport umbrellas where no governing body dictates the platform. That is who this page — and InSeasonHQ — is for.

Why independent and travel boards choose InSeasonHQ.
- No mandate needed — a better fit is enough. Travel rosters, tryout offers, volunteering and buyouts are the season for independent orgs, and they're core here.
- Bank is the cheaper lane, and families see it. By card, our fee and Sports Connect's published fee land close together on a typical registration. By bank, ours is 1.8% + $2.49, charged once on the family's whole checkout: $7.17 on a $260 registration, shown to the family in dollars before they pay.
- Multi-sport umbrellas run one system. Baseball, softball, lacrosse and soccer under one board, one treasurer, one family login — not one mandated tool per sport.
- A published annual price: $750 flat, no per-program surprises.
Where Sports Connect is the better fit — honestly.
- Chartered Little League registration: it's required, full stop. If your charter matters to your board (it usually does), register your Little League players there. Some chartered orgs still run their travel programs, clinics and off-season work elsewhere — that's a conversation we're happy to have, with eyes open about the mandate.
- Governing-body compliance depth: state/national integrations and sanctioning workflows are Stack Sports' home ground.
- If your whole sport ecosystem already lives in Stack (scheduling, officiating tools), staying in one vendor's orbit has real convenience value.
Questions boards ask about this one.
- We're a chartered Little League. Can we switch to InSeasonHQ?
- Not for your chartered player registration — Little League requires Sports Connect for that (per Little League, checked Oct 2026). Travel programs, clinics, camps and other non-charter activity are a separate question; ask us and we'll be straight with you about what fits.
- We're an independent association. Why not Sports Connect anyway?
- You can choose it freely. Compare the fees line by line: its $3 per transaction + ~3.4–3.99% processing (per its FAQ) against our card and bank rates, where bank is about half the card cost. Then compare volunteering/buyout and roster-offer depth, which is where seasons are actually run.
- Does InSeasonHQ handle travel baseball?
- Yes — roster offers (assign, offer, accept, pay), payment plans, equipment and check-in are built for travel programs.
- What does InSeasonHQ cost?
- $750/yr flat, unlimited registrations and admins; card 3.5% + $3.95 or bank 1.8% + $2.49 once per family checkout. First 30 days free.
